Google Inc., owner of the world's most popular Internet search engine, was told by a federal judge to go to the Justice Department to argue that Microsoft Corp. must make its new operating system more accommodating for rivals.
U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, who oversees the settlement of the government antitrust suit against Microsoft, the world's largest software company, said she will rely on U.S. prosecutors and state attorneys general in the case to tell her if the company isn't meeting its obligations.
