03/14: Xbox 360, Still Dealing with Shortages, Behind Other Consoles in February

Todd Bishop reports on the NPD Group console sales numbers for February 2008. The Wii sold 432,000 units, followed by the PlayStation 2 at 352,000, PlayStation 3 at 281,000 and Xbox 360 at 255,000.
Aaron Greenberg, Xbox 360 group product manager, said the company continued to face shortages in February following strong holiday sales. He said Microsoft expects Xbox 360 supply to be improved by the time of the key "Grand Theft Auto 4" release in late April. Microsoft notes that the Xbox 360 is still the leader in overall spending on hardware, video games and accessories.
